The design of the U-MAD allows for more absorbent impact. This helps to keep the errant vehicle in the work zone instead of redirecting it back into traffic. Working in unison with the cushion is the "L" lift. In the travel position, the "L" left carries the cushion, helping reduce stress damage common in suspended units.
